Job Summary
The Neuroimaging Program Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the neuroimaging analyses pipeline and database within the Center for the Study of Aphasia Recovery (C-STAR). Responsible for overseeing the image processing, quality control, and data storage for all neuroimaging. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelors degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and / or experience. Required Certification, Licensure / Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Advanced training in brain imaging and neuroimaging analyses is beneficial but not required. Familiarity with a scripting language including Python and Matlab. An advanced degree (MSc or PhD) with hands-on experience in MRI data, spatial processing, and statistical analyses would be a strong advantage. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Competent computer and communication skills (written and verbal), being task-oriented, and possessing strong attention to detail are required for this role. Excellent oral and written skills. Expertise in time management, organization, and problem solving. Proficiency in basic computer software and technical troubleshooting. Job Duties Job Duty Extend the C-STAR neuroimaging database to ensure it supports scientific analysis and discovery. Responsibilities include processing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data, identifying and addressing processing errors, and re-processing images as necessary. Additionally, maintain an organized database structure and prioritize image processing tasks to align with the scientific teams needs. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 35 Job Duty Manage the existing C-STAR neuroimaging database and re-process archival data as new methods are developed. Due to changes in magnetic imaging technology, the program manager will identify issues with older images that disrupt processing and work with the neuroimaging core team members to troubleshoot and correct analysis pipelines to handle diverse datasets. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 25 Job Duty Collaborate and communicate daily with the teams at USC or collaborating institutions on image-related activities and data requests to allow efficient access to research data and promote dissemination of research findings. Provide time estimates for large data processing requests. The program manager will also assist with creating graphic representations of data in the form of images and charts to best communicate the outcome of research questions.
