Duration : 6 Months (Possible Extension)

Contract Type : W2 Only

Location : San Diego, CA (#LI-Remote)

Pay Rate : $35 - $40 per hour on W2 basis

JOB SUMMARY :

This position involves maintaining and updating tax software products to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, researching tax legislation, and implementing product changes. The role requires a blend of tax knowledge and technical skills to perform updates, testing, and quality assurance on tax content development tools. Work will be conducted remotely following Agile / Scrum methodologies with a focus on continuous improvement and collaboration within the team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

Ensure tax products comply with regulatory standards and deadlines.
Research and analyze tax legislation for product implementation.
Implement moderate tax product changes and ensure quality through testing.
Collaborate in an Agile / Scrum team environment to meet sprint targets.
Seek continuous improvement opportunities and contribute to team efforts.

Must have Skills :

Strong understanding of federal and state taxation, particularly business taxes (1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041).

Proficient in tax preparation software and coding practices.

Effective problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Industry Experience :

2-5 years in income tax preparation or analysis, with a strong preference for software utilization experience.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Computer Science, or related field; MS or MBA in Accounting, MIS, Taxation, or related field is highly desirable.

Certification as an Enrolled Agent or CPA is preferred.
