The shipping clerk will provide support and drive the shipping process for internal and external Liebherr customers in a timely manner. The shipping clerk will ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining accurate and efficient workflow and supporting the shipping supervisor as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with FAA ATA-300 packaging requirements by utilizing appropriate materials based on unit. This includes but is not limited to instapak machines, foam molds, shrink wrap, special cases, shock watch, etc.
  • Manages AOG stock database daily to disposition repaired units into designated stock locations. Resolves discrepancies with customer service on incorrect unit information as well as missing units.
  • Manage shipment information through different software / machines based on designated courier.
  • Process US based shipments for outgoing repairs based on special customer requirements.
  • Process international shipments for outgoing repairs based on country and related custom requirements. Resolves custom declaration discrepancies for these shipments.
  • Actively communicates throughout the workday with internal customer service teams to resolve paperwork discrepancies and provide tracking information.
  • Schedule and manage outgoing shipments through various forwarding agents by providing weights and dims, defining the required method of transportation, determining customer dock schedule, and photo documenting outgoing shipments.
  • Schedule and manages customer shipments for Landing Gear product from customer to Liebherr or customer to vendor locations based on dock schedules.
  • Organize and consolidate sales shipments based on customers, delivery locations, customs requirements based on country.
  • Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production / storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
  • Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the shipping supervisor.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Utilize tools such as saw, drills, ratchets, etc. to build and repair shipping crates
  • Operate crate banding system, overhead crane, hi-lo to organize shipping area and crate large shipments
  • Manage hi-lo training schedule and licensees for all users in the building

Competencies

  • Candidates must have either 1 year of shipping experience, or a high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers.
  • Must be familiar with proper packaging methods and able to interpret visual aids used to convey specific packaging requirements.
  • Must be familiar with and operate the most common material handling equipment.
  • Must have computer skills to navigate UPS / FEDEX online software.
  • Basic math skills : ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Ability to communicate across various teams.
  • Good verbal and written skills.
