THE ROLE : This EHS Engineer 2 will be responsible for administering Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) operations and programs at the Secaucus offices and several other AMD locations on the east coast. As part of the team, they will ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety laws, rules, and regulations, and applicable company policies and procedures. This role will work closely with regional, global, and other site EHS team members, management and respective site representatives. They will support site EHS resources in creating and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, leading new initiatives, and achieving industry leading performance. THE PERSON : The successful candidate is passionate about driving business impact through Environmental, Health and Safety compliance and will appropriately influence company strategy as related to compliance and program implementation at a site level. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Manage and maintain all aspects of the environmental, health and safety programs in compliance with local regulations and corporate policies and procedures. Conduct and / or coordinate regular EHS inspections, assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure EHS compliance. Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Manage waste and assist with waste vendor audit program. Provide EHS training and support to employees to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. Organize evacuation drills. Compile and analyze EHS metrics for trends and recommend improvements when needed. Conduct site risk assessments. Work closely with operations and other personnel to identify opportunities for safety improvement and make recommendations for action. Stay up to date with changes in environmental, health and safety regulations and best practices. Manage chemical inventory and update Safety Data Sheets. Manage and maintain records according to internal specifications. Assist the Global EHS Team in identifying opportunities to improve plans and programs and prevent injuries and illnesses. Perform other Environmental, Health and Safety duties that may be required to support regulatory compliance and best practices. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards applicable in New Jersey and the US. Proven experience in conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Demonstrated experience exercising independent judgment in analyzing complex work situations and solving problems. Excellent analytical, organization and time management skills. Ability to work independently. Competence in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
