Join our dynamic team as a Payroll Tax Associate, where you will be responsible for managing payroll processes for various clients, ensuring compliance with all payroll regulations, and providing exceptional client support. Responsibilities include processing weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll for multiple clients, accurately calculating wages, deductions, garnishments, and benefits, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, and preparing and filing payroll tax documents, including W-2, W-3, and 1099 forms. You will also address payroll-related inquiries from clients and employees, record daily financial transactions and maintain general ledger accuracy, reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records, manage journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, generate financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, assist accountants with year-end closing and tax preparation, communicate professionally and clearly with clients, support onboarding of new clients and setup of payroll / bookkeeping systems, and advise clients on best practices for maintaining financial records.

Essential skills include experience with W-2 and 1099 forms, knowledge of payroll tax payments, proficiency in using payroll software / websites (EFTPS, End Time, KY Department of Revenues, IL MyTax), strong communication and organizational skills. Additional skills and qualifications include familiarity with sales tax, basic Excel skills, including formulas, experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.

The position is a full-time role, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. Work is conducted in a professional office setting, utilizing a variety of payroll and financial software.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Evansville, IN. The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
