Mechanical Assembler

The Mechanical Assembler will perform manual labor within a production line, assembling industrial air compressor products, associated parts, and accessories, and packing products according to specifications.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a production team to assemble industrial air compressor products and parts.
• Follow specific work instructions, documentation, and training for the area.
• Pick up, move, and sort small and large parts.
• Use mechanic tools, basic hand tools, pneumatic and pipe installation tools, and jigs to manipulate parts for assembly.
• Sort and place materials or items on tables, racks, or bins.
• Assemble small and large parts manually per specifications.
• Align mating parts, perform rotational alignments, and conduct pressure tests.
• Install switches, panels, and lights; cut and make up conduit as directed.
• Construct controllers and panels using power drills, drill presses, taps, saws, and punches.
• Remove extraneous material from molded parts.
• Clean assembled parts and place them in protective bags or containers.
• Help maintain an accurate inventory of goods.
• Assume responsibility for quality control, rejecting products outside specifications.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
• Keep workstation organized; properly store parts, tools, test equipment, and documentation.
• Keep the area clean and walkways clear.
• Follow safety procedures, environmental guidelines, and company rules and regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment

The work environment is non-climate controlled but equipped with large fans and open space. The typical working hours are from 6 am to 2 : 30 pm, with occasional shifts extending until 4 : 30 pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
