Job Summary
The TOC Developer III is a senior-level engineer focused on maintaining the stability, reliability, and performance of internal applications, automations, and data systems. This position is responsible for investigating failures, deploying production fixes, and strengthening code and data pipelines that support operations. The TOC Developer works cross-functionally with incident managers, DevOps, analysts, and QA to deliver rapid resolutions while contributing to long-term system resiliency.
Production Support & Break / Fix Engineering
- Resolve issues in production automations, data workflows, application services, and ETL pipelines.
- Debug Python, SQL, stored procedures, or internal tooling to identify and resolve root causes.
- Participate in real-time incident response, triage sessions, and postmortem reviews.
Script & Query Remediation
Patch Python scripts, SQL queries, and data transformations to address failures or performance issues.Validate fixes and deploy hotfixes through peer review and version-controlled CI / CD pipelines.Ensure code and queries meet standards for integrity, accuracy, and rollback safety.Tool & System Maintenance
Maintain and improve internal tools that monitor job health, data anomalies, exception tracking, or business logic routing.Add logging, alerting, retry logic, and metadata tracking to increase observability and reliability.Reduce technical debt and refactor error-prone components in scripts and queries.Cross-Team Diagnostics
Collaborate with analysts and incident managers to trace failures, reproduce bugs, and investigate data discrepancies.Provide root cause analysis for both application and data-related incidents and support analysts in interpreting system behavior.Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
Log root causes, fix details, and response timelines following major incidents.Create and maintain shared documentation, runbooks, and remediation guides in Confluence.Standardize knowledge transfer for known failure patterns and resolution workflows.Deployment Support & Compliance
Coordinate with DevOps and QA to safely deploy hotfixes and data corrections.Ensure traceability, rollback protection, and compliance with internal CI / CD and change control proceduresQualifications
3–5 years of experience in Python, SQL , or automation development (ideally across both application and data workflows)Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across the stack (Python, SQL, stored procedures, data pipelines, and integrations)Proficiency with databases, including advanced queries, stored procedures, and performance optimizationExperience supporting production systems and automations in fast-paced, real-time environmentsFamiliarity with observability and log analysis tools such as Grafana or ELKUnderstanding of ETL / ELT pipelines, internal tool design, and business logic scriptingExperience with CI / CD pipelines, version control (Git), Agile practices, and software development lifecycle standardsStrong communication and documentation skills, including runbooks and postmortemsExperience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms is a plusFamiliarity with Azure environments is a plusWillingness to support after-hours incident response if neededAbility and willingness to learn and own end-to-end business processes essential to supporting and executing responsibilities in this rolePerks & Benefits :
