Position Summary
The Ophthalmic Technician is a vital member of the eye care team, responsible for assisting ophthalmologists in the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions. They perform various clinical and technical duties to ensure the efficient delivery of eye care services.
Work Locations : Federal Way and Auburn
Work Hours : Monday to Friday No Weekends
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ability to perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.
- Other diagnostic testing may include : Visual fields, OCT, Corneal Topography, Venipuncture, etc..
- May assist with inventory of ophthalmic supplies, including pharmaceuticals and instruments on a regular basis.
- Provides phone support with request for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.
- Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, such as HIPPA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentially and privacy.
- May perform other duties as necessary
Experience Requirements
One year experience as an ophthalmic technician requiredOne year experience in a customer facing position preferredEducation Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferredCertified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification preferredPhysical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
