The Produce Lead assists in overseeing Produce Department and staff, including productivity, inventory, signage and budgeting. They provide and model excellent, professional customer service. They assist the Produce Coordinator in ordering, receiving and merchandising produce.

Main Job Responsibilities
Provides and models excellent, professional customer serviceAssists in overseeing produce department operationsAssists Produce Coordinator in writing orders and handling other produce department tasksParticipates in department planning with Produce Coordinator in regards to budgeting, product mix, and schedulingGains thorough knowledge of all produce itemsProvides direction, supervision, and mentorship to produce staffBuilds and maintains produce displays and rotates produce in back stock and sales floorReceives produce orders, arranges credits from vendors and process invoicesUpdates price changes and signageEnsures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are metOperates all equipment in accordance with PCC standardsQualifications and Skills
Proven ability to perform excellent, professional customer serviceMust have excellent leadership, organizational, multitasking and communication skillsMust have demonstrated order writing skillsSchedule writing experience preferredAvailable to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekendsPrevious retail experience desired and background in produce preferredUse of basic knife skills requiredMust be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting 1040lbs regularlyA current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is requiredIf hired into this role, a Certified Food Protection Manager certification (for example ServSafe) is required (paid for by PCC)If hired into this role, a CPR / First Aid Certification is required (paid for by PCC)Benefits and Perks
