Job Summary

  • As a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse, you will provide exceptional nursing care to patients in the oncology unit, following established standards and practices.
  • Your responsibilities will include assessing patients, developing individualized care plans, implementing treatment protocols, and evaluating patient outcomes to ensure the highest quality of care aligns with our hospital's mission.

General Requirements

  • Adhere to hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Conduct all job responsibilities in alignment with the organization's core values and mission.
  • Complete additional designated duties as required, in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Stay current in your field through self-education and participation in ongoing educational programs.
  • Attend staff meetings and fulfill mandatory in-services, competency evaluations, and requirements promptly.
  • Exhibit competency in delivering age-appropriate care tailored to patients’ unique needs.
  • Utilize appropriate protective clothing and equipment when necessary.

    • Working Conditions

  • Work in a well-lit, air-conditioned environment with moderate noise levels, while occasionally facing high noise levels and bright lights.
  • May be exposed to limited hazardous substances, body fluids, or infectious organisms.
  • Ability to transition between different tasks effectively without losing efficiency or composure.
  • Expect periods of high stress and workload fluctuations.
  • Be available for scheduling flexibility, including potential overtime.

    • Education Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing from a state-accredited institution (Required).
  • Bachelor's degree in Professional Nursing from a state accredited school (Preferred).

    • Experience Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years of nursing experience (Preferred).

    • Certifications and Licensures

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia is required.
  • ONS Chemo Provider Certification, or completion within six months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

    • General Skills

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service abilities with proficiency in reading and comprehending written instructions.
  • Capability to follow verbal instructions and possess basic computer skills.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Must have near normal vision, including clarity of vision both near and far, and ability to distinguish colors.
  • Good manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination are essential.

    • Physical Demands

  • Standing : Continuously required during shifts (67-100%).
  • Walking : Frequently required during shifts (34-66%).
  • Sitting : Occasionally required during shifts (1-33%).
  • Climbing : Occasionally required during shifts (1-33%).
  • Bending / Stooping : Frequently required during shifts (34-66%).
  • Twisting at the waist : Occasionally required during shifts (1-33%).
  • Pushing / Pulling : Frequently required during shifts (34-66%).
  • Reaching above shoulder : Occasionally required during shifts (1-33%).
