Job Summary
The Senior Regulatory Relations Project Consultant leads strategic regulatory projects and supports state regulatory affairs teams in advancing the company’s objectives. Operating with limited supervision, this role manages initiatives related to current and anticipated regulatory matters. It requires strong knowledge of state regulatory processes, utility operations, and project management, along with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
What you will do
With limited supervision, leads and facilitates regulatory projects, activities, and dockets that may originate in various business units, including rate reviews, approval of capital projects, compliance filings, and other initiatives.
Collaborates with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful regulatory outcomes that advance the company’s strategic plan and represents the company in external stakeholder engagements.
Monitors and evaluates emerging regulatory and business strategies in the marketplace.
Responsible for ensuring measures are in place to identify, assess, respond, and communicate risks and opportunities.
Advises Regulatory Affairs management on the status of the projects assigned, including identification of risks and mitigation strategies that may arise from such projects.
Facilitates activities across multiple business units, including state regulatory affairs, legal, customer service, finance, operations, engineering solutions, project development, and customer solutions.
Identifies, designs, and implements new regulatory processes and initiatives that drive cost efficiencies and positive outcomes for customers.
Supports change management and process improvement activities to reduce regulatory burden and align regulatory processes with business strategy.
Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and help deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree Economics, Business Administration, Public policy, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or related field. Preferred
Required Experience
5 years of experience in broad areas of utility business practices, including utility regulation, compliance, customer solutions, or related field.

Pay Range : 100,000-$125,000
This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
