About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its environmental nonprofit organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the strategic vision, strengthening organizational leadership, enhancing scientific programs and advocacy, expanding community engagement, and diversifying fundraising efforts. This role requires a minimum of five years' senior leadership experience, a passion for environmental and climate-related issues, and a proven track record in personnel management, strategic planning, and operational execution. The Executive Director will also be expected to be a community engager and advocate, with strong communication skills, and to have experience in fundraising and resource development, including financial acumen and the ability to connect fundraising efforts to the organization's mission.
The ideal candidate for the Executive Director position at the company will be an accomplished organizational and team leader, with the ability to balance passion for the mission with patience, diplomacy, and effective conflict resolution. They should be an environmental and scientific enthusiast, capable of articulating environmental issues and balancing advocacy, science, and educational programming in decision-making. The role also demands an adaptable innovator, open-minded, creative, and forward-thinking, with the capacity to modernize systems and improve operational efficiency. The Executive Director will be the chief executive officer of the organization, overseeing a staff of seven and working closely with a 15-member Board of Directors.
