Surgery Scheduler

Location :  Plano, TX

Schedule :  Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM

About the Role

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate  Surgery Scheduler  to join our clinical team in Plano. In this vital role, you’ll coordinate surgical procedures, ensure accurate documentation, and serve as a key liaison between patients, providers, and surgical facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule surgeries and pre-operative appointments with precision and efficiency
  • Coordinate with physicians, surgical centers, and insurance providers
  • Obtain prior authorizations and verify benefits for procedures
  • Educate patients on pre-op instructions, fasting requirements, and arrival times
  • Ensure all necessary documentation, labs, and imaging are completed prior to surgery
  • Maintain accurate records in EMR systems
  • Communicate clearly with patients regarding scheduling changes or updates
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth surgical workflows
  • Handle patient inquiries with professionalism and empathy

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
  • 1+ year of experience in medical scheduling or surgical coordination
  • Familiarity with EMR systems (., Epic, Athena, Cerner)
  • Strong understanding of insurance processes and prior authorizations
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Customer service mindset with a calm, reassuring demeanor

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00 / hr.

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job

    classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
