Job Title : Lead Electrical Design Engineer (Power Systems)
Job Description
The Lead Electrical Design Engineer will lead design teams focused on unique design projects and challenges in the renewable energy industry. Typical projects may include energy storage systems, power conversion units, or industrial equipment. These systems will include high power switchgear, electrical panels and wiring, as well as industry-standard control and monitoring systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical designs of high-power systems from concept to production.
- Assist in business capture efforts, including estimations and planning.
- Develop product requirements from customer input.
- Apply applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Select key electrical components with an emphasis on cost reduction.
- Design system wiring diagrams, electrical panel schematics, cable and manufacturing outputs.
- Perform design analysis, including DFMEA, derating analysis, arc-fault calculations, heat loss calculations, short circuit current limit calculations, etc.
- Develop test plans against customer requirements.
- Debug prototype units using standard lab equipment.
- Execute verification test plan using standard lab equipment.
- Write manufacturing test specifications.
- Represent Design Engineering in technical customer discussions.
- Perform design reviews.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.At least 8+ years of experience in electrical hardware design.Experience managing entire design cycles from concept to production.Proficiency in electrical engineering, design, and electrical design.Expertise in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.Experience in power systems and professional engineering practices.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to develop product requirements from customer input.Experience in applying industry standards and regulatory requirements.Skilled in design analysis including DFMEA and other calculations.Proven ability to execute verification test plans and debug prototype units.Experience in representing design engineering in customer discussions.Work Environment
This role will be based on-site in St. Petersburg, providing a professional setting that involves hands-on work with standard lab equipment. The environment will be dynamic and collaborative, focused on innovation in the renewable energy industry.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $185000.00 / hr.
