JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for developing in ETL platforms and providing analyst support to gather, transform, and store data within Brotherhood Mutual’s reporting database architectures. Demonstrate expertise in all phases of development from source system acquisition to the timely loading of enterprise data stores for analytic, regulatory, and reporting data uses.

  • Independently develop the extraction, transformation, and load outputs and processes for data solutions based on formal requirements.
  • Design, develop and maintain database objects such as the tables, views and stored procedures needed to support reporting, statistical, analytic, and operational data.
  • Manage and maintain various database systems such as relational, dimensional, and flat file to move and transform the data for data warehousing, business intelligence, reporting, and compliance needs.
  • Provide resource planning support and assist with setting delivery timelines.
  • Analyze data to understand gaps, inconsistencies and other quality issues to identify improvements.
  • Resolve database and query performance issues.
  • Work with business stakeholders and IT staff to gather data and reporting requirements.
  • Develop within the standardized deployment procedures for data projects including appropriate testing, user feedback and potential rollback processes.
  • Actively participate in Database technology forums, user groups, conferences and seminars for the purpose of networking and knowledge sharing.
  • Aid the Network Services team during system updates and replacements involving database servers and processes.
  • Coordinate with Network Services team during Disaster Recover testing, specifically with Recovery Point and Recovery Time Objectives.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.

  • Solid research, organizational, database, and SQL competency skills.
  • Excellent aptitudes in customer service and time management.
  • Capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Expertise in dimensional, statistical, analytical, and relational modeling.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and administer complex data projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
  • Proven ability to learn and implement new methodologies and procedures.
  • Effective oral, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department staff members.
  • EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE

  • An Associate’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent degree required.
  • Three or more years working with database technologies and ETL platforms such as SQL Server, SAP, Informatica, or Oracle required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent degree is desired.
  • Exposure to and understanding of insurance industry is desired.
