We are looking for a skilled Budget Analyst to join our team in Hayward, California. This long-term contract position involves providing financial analysis and oversight to local education agencies, including school districts and charter schools. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and budgeting, preferably in school finance, and possess excellent analytical and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities :

• Perform detailed analysis of financial reports, budgets, multi-year projections, cash flow statements, and audit findings.
• Monitor fiscal operations and compliance for school districts and board-authorized charter schools.
• Reconcile state funding reports with actual revenue and entitlement data to ensure accuracy.
• Review and validate grant and funding allocations to align with organizational budgets.
• Deliver technical guidance and training to administrators in local education agencies and county offices.
• Support leadership in maintaining adherence to financial compliance standards such as AB1200 and AB2756.
• Assist in preparing interim financial reports and unaudited actuals for educational institutions.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to improve financial processes and ensure transparency.
• Provide insights and recommendations to enhance budget management and fiscal planning.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of budget processes, annual budgets, and operating budget management.
• Familiarity with school finance systems and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in analyzing financial data and preparing comprehensive reports.
• Ability to provide technical assistance and training to diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively in a team environment.
• Advanced skills in financial software and Microsoft Office applications.
