We are seeking a detail-oriented Applications Engineer to provide calculations and drawings to support project requirements. In this role, you will assist representatives and customers with technical solutions, ensuring project specifications are met efficiently. If you have strong analytical skills and a passion for problem-solving,
Responsibilities not limited to :
1. Provides calculations and drawings in support of project requirements
- Performs static load and stress analysis including wind and seismic loads
- Size vibration isolators, mounting and installation details
- Performs anchorage and overturning calculations on various types of equipment using seismic guidelines
- Provides seismic / non-seismic restraint cable layouts and calculations for piping and ductwork drawings
- Performs calculations, drawing and layouts
- Assembles engineering recommendation packages for customers and representatives; detailing basis of isolator recommendations in addition to drawing details, as required
2. Provides technical support for reps, customers, and others in the Engineering department.
Answers correspondence from reps, customers, and field contractors for technical supportChecks transmittal packages in support of Engineering team (NJ, TX, and India) before submission to stamping Engineer for approvalAssemble Transmittals for Engineering Department Administrator to send out for stamping or for approvalRequirements :
Skills & Qualifications :
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ACCESS & Visio a plusStrong analytical skills for vibration / shock analysis & isolator recommendationsAbility to interpret contracts, specifications & equipment cut sheetsKnowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, electrical, piping, ductwork & controlsFamiliarity with building codes & seismic requirements (IBC, ASCE 7)AutoCAD proficiency; Excel for designing analytical toolsExposure to BOM & contract documentationCompetencies :
Fast-paced, results-driven mindsetStrong integrity, organization & time managementDetail-oriented with critical thinking & problem-solving skillsQualifications :
