For this outreach position, DERConnect collaborates with Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) in Santa Fe, New Mexico on microgrid and energy technology training curricula and / or teaching. The position is based in San Diego, with partial remote work in which the applicant is required to develop curriculum at Santa Fe, NM. Applicant would work alongside SFCC faculty to coach instructors and develop hands-on curriculum during summer session in June and July 2024 or during the Fall Semester from end of August through early December 2024. Travel expenses to NM will be paid. SFCC’s Smart and Microgrid Training Center is a fully functioning and islandable microgrid serving the controlled environment greenhouse on campus, including a small tracking PV array, a battery energy storage system, controls, and a 1.5 Megawatt fixed PV system. Uses advanced technical expertise and program management concepts to analyze and develop state-wide training deliverables and evaluate progress towards goals and objectives. Works on highly complex program training issues, where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation and understanding of program strategies and objectives. Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for program development, data analysis, and progress. Serves as "lead" and subject matter expert.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in the engineering, sciences, mathematics, or related field or comparable education and experience preferred.
Advanced knowledge of scientific area and understanding of how work may impact other areas.
In depth knowledge of current community educational programs and trends.
In-depth analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and understand engineering terminology and translate it into easily understandable terms for the general public.
Advanced skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new presentations / courses to meet organizational needs.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.
Advanced knowledge of organizational and governmental policies, procedures and regulations.
Advanced knowledge of and skill in delivering programs.
Knowledge of managing a portfolio of business and management courses at the university level.
Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Annual Full Pay Range : $61,800 - $108,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
