The Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician will support work through a combination of sustaining activities and engineering projects, including new product development. Under supervision, the I&E Technician performs a variety of engineering work in planning, installing, monitoring, and maintaining control systems and machinery.
- Perform and document maintenance, calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair plant instrumentation i.e., transmitters, analyzers, control valves, switches, relays, etc.
- Inspect, repair, replace transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, and electrical systems
- Work with a wide variety of instruments including, ultrasonic, guided wave radar, mass flow, pressure transducers, RTDs, etc.
- Understand piping and instrument diagrams, signal flow diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, one-line drawings, loop sheets, and wire lists
- Perform all duties in a manner consistent with environmental, health and safety policies
- Participate in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdowns
- Provide technical and hands on support as required during shutdowns
- Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical systems including low voltage 24VDC to 480VAC
- Work from instrument drawings and P&ID’s, identify end devices and components
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent requiredFive plus years of experience in instrumentation of equipment requiredKnowledge and experience in the design, installation and troubleshooting of electrical equipment requiredWorking knowledge of PLC, HMI and automated equipment & standard instrumentation types (4-20 mA, 0-5 V, pulse, MODBUS) requiredAbility to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics and one-line diagrams requiredAbility to work independently, as well as with cross-functional teams of electrical technicians, mechanics, welders, operations personnel, engineers, and safety professionals requiredJourney man electrician certification is preferredNatural gas industry experience is preferredHands-on experience with the following equipment required :
