Position Title : Software Systems Engineer - Model-based Avionics
Overview :
We’re looking for a Systems Engineer with a strong foundation in software development to help shape and integrate complex, high-performance systems. This hybrid role combines model-based systems engineering (MBSE) with hands-on coding to drive traceability, validation, and optimization across mission-critical platforms. Key Responsibilities :
- Build and maintain SysML-based models that capture system behavior, software interfaces, and component interactions using tools like Cameo Systems Modeler
- Partner closely with software engineers to ensure models align with architecture and implementation in C++ and Python
- Contribute to the design and analysis of embedded and distributed systems, emphasizing software performance, functionality, and interoperability
- Translate system-level requirements into actionable software specifications and interface definitions
- Conduct trade studies and simulations to assess design alternatives and system performance
- Participate in code reviews, integration testing, and debugging of C++ / Python-based systems
- Present technical findings and model insights to cross-functional engineering teams
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline3+ years of experience in MBSE and software developmentProficiency in C++ and Python, with a track record of building and debugging complex systemsHands-on experience with SysML and modeling tools such as Cameo Systems ModelerSolid grasp of software architecture, design patterns, and system integration principlesStrong communication skills and a collaborative mindsetPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $150000.00 / hr.
