Minimum Qualifications

Education Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required Medical Assistant Certificate or Diploma from an approved program

Licenses and Certifications

BLS Basic Life Support required CMA Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (preferred)

Experience

Experience in direct patient care, rooming, vitals, specimen collection, and vaccine administration Knowledge of coding, billing, and medical terminology Customer service experience in a high-volume, fast-paced medical environment

Responsibilities

Perform patient rooming, obtain vital signs, and prepare medical records and equipment for exams Assist physicians with procedures, medication administration, and specimen collection Perform waived testing, EKGs, immunizations, and prescription refill processes Schedule patient appointments, radiology, and follow-ups Handle patient check-in / out, verify insurance, and process authorizations Manage CRM / in-basket messages, disability paperwork, and patient communications Maintain cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms and clinic areas Act as a patient advocate, assisting with referrals, information, and coordination of care
