EMIT Learning is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in schools your role will be to provide screening assessment diagnosis and intervention services to children with speech and language disorders. You will collaborate with teachers parents and other professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support students communication skills and academic success. Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive screenings and evaluations to identify speech and language disorders in studentsDevelop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and in consultation with teachers parents and other professionalsProvide direct therapy services to students with speech and language difficulties using evidence-based techniques and interventionsMonitor and document students progress regularly and make adjustments to treatment plans as neededCollaborate with teachers to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom curriculum and activitiesEducate and train teachers parents and other school staff on strategies to support students communication skills in the classroomWork as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess and support students with other special needs or learning disabilitiesParticipate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings providing input on students communication goals and progressStay updated on the latest research and development in the field of speech and language pathology and apply that knowledge to practiceRequirements
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and DisordersValid license or certification as a Speech-Language PathologistExperience working with children preferably in a school settingKnowledge of assessment tools and techniques for speech and language disordersFamiliarity with interventions and strategies for addressing various speech and language difficultiesAbility to collaborate and communicate effectively with teachers parents and other professionalsExcellent organizational skills and ability to manage a caseload of studentsStrong documentation and report writing abilitiesNote : The specific requirements for this position may vary depending on the jurisdiction and school district.
