American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN with recent acute care and cardiothoracic surgery experience, WI or compact RN license, and BLS / ACLS certifications.

Job Details

  • Position is in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a hospital setting,
  • Cardiac and cardiothoracic surgical patient population,
  • Day and evening 12-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with typical shifts from 06 : 30 to 19 : 00 and occasional shifts from 09 : 40 to 22 : 10,
  • Weekday and weekend call rotation required,
  • Travelers are the first to float and may be assigned to multiple units based on staffing needs,
  • Use of telemetry monitoring equipment with pre-start competency testing required,

Job Requirements

  • Active WI RN or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration,
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association,
  • Minimum two years of acute care RN experience within the last three years, specifically in CVOR or acuity adaptable areas (level 3 or above),
  • Must be able to pass telemetry exam requirements prior to start,
  • Locals within 50 miles are not eligible,

    • Additional Information

  • Daily responsibilities involve providing intraoperative care for cardiac and cardiothoracic surgery patients,
  • Must complete pass / fail telemetry exam with strict criteria before starting, including lethal rhythm identification and high accuracy on heart block questions,
  • Two attempts permitted for pre-employment testing, with remediation process outlined for those who do not pass,
  • Hospital orientation typically lasts about a week and follows department-specific scheduling,
  • Holiday and weekend rotations are required as per unit policy,
  • First-time travelers may be accepted in some units,
