Mailroom Clerk
Provide mail, shipping and receiving services for the established locations, mail routes, and special deliveries / courier duties as necessary. Additional duties could be required as outlined below.
Sort, package, deliver, pick up, and process all external and internal mail as required. This could include domestic, international, and Hazmat.
Look up and redirect misaddressed mail and execute special delivery runs
Operate mailroom and any other equipment in a safe manner
Execute all required training on time.
Understand, update, and record changing mail stops and mail routes
Other duties as assigned that could include scanning, conference room set-ups, managing coffee stations ensuring all supplies are ordered and set-up daily, printing checks, greeting guests, schedule meetings, answer building related questions, support catering events, move materials
High School Diploma or GED
1-3 months' related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Valid State Driver's License required
Hazmat shipping training certification required per US Department of Transportation (DOT) outlined in 49 CFR Part 172 Subpart H (172.704) to include General awareness of Haz Mat Regulations, Safety, Security and specific duties within 90 days of hire and complete refresher training every 3 years.
International Air Transport Association (IATA) training a plus
Certified Mailroom Clerk (CMC) certification a plus
Any other Mailroom or Shipping and Receiving Clerk Certifications a Plus
Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, including proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
English
Ability to read and comprehend instructions including, but not limited to, safety policies and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with both management and field level employees.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Able to take verbal and written instructions, and able to carry out any other responsibility assigned by management. Must be able to follow written procedures covering such items as mail route delivery, mail stop updates, trainings, and emergency procedures. Able to arrive on time for work and some overtime may be required. The working environment could include office areas, shipping and receiving / warehouse areas, Industrial and manufacturing spaces. This could include loud, dusty, extreme temperature environments.
