Public accounting experience is a big plus (i.e. accounting firm, bookkeeping outsourcing firms). Accounting major also a strong plus. CPA or Enrolled Agent certification a strong plus. Strong communication skills and project management skills are expected (will handle multiple client engagements simultaneously) Language skills : Japanese proficiency is not a requirement, but beneficial for the role. Experience with Quickbooks Online, Sage, and various ERP systems are a plus.

Job description
- Perform bookkeeping tasks for various clients including : Data entry, AR and AP processing (invoicing, payments, collections), expense reimbursement processing, check runs, journal entry preparation, etc.
- Monthly and year-end closing assistance : Prepare monthly close journal entries, bank reconciliations, account subledgers, etc.
- Prepare balance sheet, income statement, and other financial reports based on client-requested formats. May also prepare reporting packages submitted to headquarters.
- Assist clients in preparing information requests from external auditors
- Prepare miscellaneous tax forms and process payments (i.e. sales and use tax, property tax, informational returns)
- Perform attestation services (i.e. financial statement review, compilations)
- Prepare individual and corporate tax returns
