Your day to day as a Healthy Living Instructor

As a Part-Time Healthy Living Instructor at the Y your role will revolve around facilitating evidence-based health interventions by delivering a structured curriculum and leading engaging physical activity segments. This position will be required to work some evenings. Youll have the exciting opportunity to build genuine relationships with program participants encouraging them to connect with one another and the YMCA community. Your knack for fostering a friendly motivating and non-competitive atmosphere will inspire everyone to participate and set personal goals.

Youll also be responsible for adequately preparing before each class from crafting session outlines to making reminder calls ensuring that every participant feels welcomed and ready to embark on their health journey!

To thrive as a Part-Time Healthy Living Instructor at the YMCA of Greater Toledo youll need a blend of essential skills and certifications. Strong communication abilities are paramount as youll be building authentic relationships with health seekers and fostering a sense of community within the group. Empathy is crucial in understanding the diverse needs of participants as they embark on their health journeys. Additionally you must hold Adult / Child CPR / AED and Basic First Aid certifications within your first month of hire ensuring a safe environment for all. As you dive into YMCA programs obtaining relevant certifications within 90 days will empower you to deliver impactful and effective sessions.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

• Certifications : Adult / Child CPR / AED and Basic First Aid certification within 1 month of hire.
• Must have strong communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with individuals and build community within a group and have empathy for health seekers.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Certifications for YMCA programs must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
