Engineering Technician

General Summary

This position is an entry level position who will work with a more experienced engineering technician until he / she is proficient in all routine tasks. This technician is responsible for performing varied but standardized tests and procedures using scientific techniques and methods; recording, analyzing, and reporting results; and working under oversight of the supervisor or a more experienced technician.iWork may be checked in progress and technical accuracy is reviewed on completion.

• Perform standard, routine material characterization tests and related activities with the oversight of a more experienced engineering technician.
• Set up test stations and maintain stations properly through calibration, preventative maintenance and repair.
• Extract and process test data following well-defined methods and presenting the data in the required format.
• Keep work area organized apply 6S principles to assigned areas and actively assist lab supervisor in lab-wide implementation.
