Job Title : Regular IT Systems Management Analyst

Location : Worcester, MA (Onsite)

Job Type : Long-term contract

Project description

  • The System Management Analyst will support a large-scale enterprise infrastructure project focused on optimizing data center operations, enhancing virtualization environments, and ensuring system reliability across critical business systems.
  • The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting Red Hat Linux systems, managing VMware and SAN storage infrastructure, and performing physical hardware deployments in a dynamic and high-availability environment.
  • The analyst will play a key role in preventive maintenance, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to support business continuity and service excellence.

System Management Analyst

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform System-Wide Preventive Maintenance
  • Conduct regular system checks and implement preventive measures to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Investigate and Resolve System Issues
  • Lead root-cause analysis and resolution of system-related incidents to maintain operational continuity and performance.
  • Manage Virtualization Environments
  • Administer and support VMware environments, including configuration, monitoring, and optimization of virtual machines and related infrastructure.
  • Support Data Center Operations
  • Contribute to the design, build, and maintenance of data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and space planning.
  • Configure and Manage Storage Systems
  • Utilize Logical Volume Manager (LVM) for storage configuration, including volume groups, logical volumes, and file systems.
  • Manage SAN and NAS storage platforms (DELL, NetApp, PURE), including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform Physical Hardware Management
  • Rack and stack physical hardware, manage cabling, and ensure optimal physical layout and connectivity in data centers.
  • Administer Linux-Based Systems
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning on Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems (RHEL 8 & 9).
  • Maintain compliance with Red Hat system lifecycle policies.
  • Develop and Use Automation Scripts
  • Create and maintain Shell scripts to automate tasks such as SAN snapshot configuration, monitoring, and system maintenance.
  • Ensure System Reliability and Availability
  • Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization to ensure service availability and adherence to SLAs.
  • Document Systems and Procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Citrix General duties :

  • Entry-level to intermediate knowledge of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops version 2203 and newer
  • Creating applications
  • Publishing applications
  • General Citrix troubleshooting skills
  • Entry-level to intermediate knowledge of Citrix NetScaler
  • Creating VIPs
  • Troubleshooting issues with VIPs
  • Entry-level to intermediate knowledge of Citrix PVS
  • Knowledge of version-based image management
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2016 and newer
  • Patching
  • Troubleshooting
  • Skills Must have Qualifications needed :

  • No less than 4 years of relevant to the role experience.
  • System-wide preventive maintenance.
  • Experience running root-cause investigations for system issues.
  • Knowledge and understanding of VMware and virtualization
  • Knowledge on Data Center design and build
  • Knowledge of LVM for configuring storage, (Volume Groups, Logical Volumes, file system).
  • Knowledge of storage (DELL, NetApp, PURE)
  • Knowledge on how to rack and stack physical gear
  • Knowledge of Linux troubleshooting commands for addressing Linux problems, for instance, troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Knowledge of Red Hat in general (RHEL8 and RHEL9) and knowing the Life cycles.
  • Knowledge of SAN storage and setting up snapshots using SHELL scripts.
  • Knowledge of VMWARE RDM storage.
  • Knowledge of cabling and the overall physical rack and stack of equipment
  • Nice to have
