Reviews disability documentation and determines reasonable and appropriate access accommodations while maintaining accuracy of student files and provides reports as necessary. Description of Job Function 2. Negotiates and arranges with all necessary parties to engage in the interactive process regarding uncommon academic accommodations. Description of Job Function 3. Manages all area personnel, both full and part time staff, including student employees; through supervision, training, and evaluation of performance. Description of Job Function 4. Manages all area campus office coverage and assists to provide coverage to the regional campus locations. Description of Job Function 5. Collaborates effectively with faculty, staff, and administration to provide services for students with disabilities including their necessary accommodations. Description of Job Function 6. Creates and assists students through the course substitution process for those qualified students. Description of Job Function 7. Serves on college committees at the request of the OSD Director. Manages all aspects of campus orientation for students with disabilities and their parents. Description of Job Function 10. Provides support for students with disabilities who are on academic probation by : helping students set realistic goals for improvement, and tracking student progress throughout the semester. Description of Job Function 11. Facilities OSD outreach presentations for Valencia students, faculty, and staff; local service agencies; local middle and high schools; and other community groups. Qualifications
Drivers License Requirement Drivers License Requirement Not Applicable Required Qualifications Required Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution, or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and / or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions. Required Field of Study Other Required Qualifications One year related experience. Required License / Certification Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education & Field of Study Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Preferred field of study in Education, Psychology, Rehabilitation, Disability Services. Preferred Type of Experience Experience working with students in an educational setting, preferably a two-year college.
Experience working with students with disabilities at a post-secondarylevel. Preferred Licenses / Certification Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of laws governing students with disabilities’ access to post-secondary education.
Ability to navigate confidentiality among both students and employees,based on required practices.
Knowledge of the unique needs of students with disabilities in the educational setting.

Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
Computer Skills proficiency in a Windows environment.
Ability to travel to and from various locations, including campus sites.

direction; and work efficiently and accuratelywithout close supervision.
Ability to work with entire college community and meet the needs of allstudent populations.
Ability to manage and lead a diverse group of employees including student employees, part time and full time staff. Working Conditions General Working Conditions This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and within the community staffed by professional and student staff members. The individual in this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, die cut machines, laminators, and fax machines. Some position responsibilities require tasks outside of the office, in either a classroom setting, programming venue, or outdoors. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Typical physical competencies include but are not limited to frequently remaining stationary, moving, reaching, positioning self and occasionally ascending / descending, lifting / moving objects weighing between 25 pounds. This job also entails frequently communicating, discerning and exchanging information, detecting and perceiving objects up close, at a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Cognitive abilities include but are not limited to frequently using discretion, judgment, reasoning, memory, learning, maintaining confidentiality, comprehension, problem solving, and decision-making.
