Job Description
Puentes Hacia el Futuro is an after-school program for children grades 1-8 in the South Philadelphia Latinx immigrant community. This program was developed and piloted in 2017 and officially incorporated into Puentes de Saluds education programming in the fall of 2018. In July 2020, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the program lost funding / staffing and remained active in a limited state. The Fall of 2022 was its year of return to in-person programming which allowed for it to benefit from 1 : 1 tutoring / mentorship. This school year we are implementing tutoring time with the help of volunteers and a PHF intern. This year we are piloting a new program called Pasaporte Cultural. Students will learn about different countries in Latin America and engage in different activities that represent each country.
Position Description :
This fall, we plan to offer the program, Pasaporte Cultural, once a week to students in 5th and 6th grade.
