Social Responsibility Coordinator
URBN is looking for a Social Responsibility Coordinator to help support our global business. In this exciting role, the Social Responsibility Coordinator will play a critical role in furthering URBN's progress in the Social Responsibility space, working toward achieving URBN's forward-looking CSR goals. The Social Responsibility Coordinator will help ensure URBN products are sourced responsibly, URBN's suppliers are compliant with its Code of Conduct, and risk within the supply chain is mitigated. The Social Responsibility Coordinator will actively contribute to new, exciting initiatives in the Social Responsibility and Global Trade & Compliance space.
Role Responsibilities
- Support annual Social Compliance Audit program by reviewing third-party audits, and working directly with vendors on corrective action plans
- Organize and maintain databases related to factories / audits
- Gather data to support reporting of key metrics to leadership team
- Assist with internal and external communications related to social compliance
- Act as liaison between third party audit firms and vendors
- Mitigate forced labor risk through continuous improvement of social responsibility due diligence program
- Assist with implementation of vendor-facing human rights related initiatives
- Support review of potential new vendors, to ensure alignment with URBN values and Vendor Code of Conduct; track Social Responsibility status of vendors being onboarded
- Update URBN's Country Risk Assessment tool as needed
- Assist with Supply Chain Mapping initiatives by working closely with vendors to ensure responses are collected efficiently and effectively
- Validate data gathered in Supply Chain Mapping initiative using provided resources
- Engage with third-party compliance management system to ensure vendors are supported and assessment objectives are clear
- Assist in collection of vendor risk score data to be provided to internal teams; Leverage third-party systems to effectively collect data needed to assign risk scores to vendors
- Contribute ideas to maximize efficiencies and improve current due diligence programs
- Continuously monitor industry resources to stay up-to-speed on current events and legislation that affect social responsibility
Role Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent, highly preferredAt least 1-2 years of experience in a Social Responsibility or human rights related role, preferably in the apparel and / or retail industryExtremely detail oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to prioritize and manage own time and workloadStrong communicator with a flexible and adaptable approach to new challengesDemonstrated ability to effectively build relationships and collaborate across a global organizationA tendency to see opportunity for improvement whenever possible, and bring new, innovative ideas to the teamAbility to analyze information to drive business decisions, manage project plans and resourcesAbility to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing landscape, and adapt as neededHigh degree of proficiency with Google and MS Office Suite (Excel)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsProactive, self-motivated, and strong team playerProven experience reviewing and analyzing Social Compliance audits, and understands relevant due diligence frameworksClear track record of successfully supporting a Social Responsibility teamA foundational knowledge of responsible sourcing, especially in the apparel industryGeneral understanding of Social Responsibility initiatives and organizations in the apparel / retail industriesThe Perks
