Guilford Technical Community College ( GTCC ) is currently the fourth largest of NC. Community College System’s 58 institutions. Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, developing curriculum courses, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He / she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.
Under general supervision, this individual will develop / revise, prepare and teach both technical and non-technical FAME / Advanced Manufacturing Technician courses and facilitate and coach non-credit AMT activities within the program, while caring for and maintaining the FAME Technical Center and laboratory facilities. Faculty will also be responsible for advising students and collaborating with industry partners to ensure relevancy of the curriculum and provide necessary training and education. The faculty member must possess the knowledge, skills and experience to provide effective instruction in advanced manufacturing topics related to mechatronics engineering technology.

Program Director Duties
- Provides leadership and management to the overall FAME Advanced Manufacturing Technician ( AMT ) program credit and non-credit curriculum development / review including ensuring establishment of effective student learning outcomes and related assessment methods.
- Develops class and activity schedules and faculty assignments in coordination with the Dean and area faculty.
- Supports FAME Advanced Manufacturing Technician students through both the academic and non-academic program ensuring retention and graduation.
- Provides oversight of program budgets and inventory for all supplies and equipment.
- Participates in the college’s hiring process; orients new full and part time faculty .
- Participates in providing evaluative feedback to faculty / staff regarding job performance.
- Mentors part-time faculty to ensure academic quality and consistency.
- Participates in required professional development for self and staff to ensure continued program relevancy.
- Maintains knowledge of current industry standards by developing relationships with industry leaders, experts and companies.
- Continuously evaluate national, regional and local workforce trends in the Advanced Manufacturing industry to ensure curricular relevancy.
- Assumes direct instructional responsibility for components of the Advanced Manufacturing Technician curriculum in accordance with established college guidelines.
- Coordinates outreach and develops / maintains relationships with industry-related personnel and employers to promote the advancement of industry employment for graduates.
- Maintains knowledge of current FAME standards and requirements by establishing a relationship with The Manufacturing Institute / FAME USA and staying current on all program aspects.

Teaching
Prepare & teach departmental courses to include :
