About the team and position

Join the frontline of innovation with Carvana's Marketplaces Strategy & Analytics Team. As a key player in this dynamic team, you'll fuel the growth of Carvana’s auto auction subsidiary, ADESA, by diving into complex datasets from diverse sources. Your work will help drive the strategies to enhance speed, cost, and quality across our nationwide portfolio. By leveraging our proven strategies and collaborating with our internal network of trailblazers, you'll work directly with our largest sellers to drive pricing and performance improvements.

This person should be anxious to leverage their analytical and technical skills to make an immediate and meaningful impact on the business. We have no shortage of data, resources, or ambition at Carvana, and we are excited to bring on people who share our desire to leverage data and technology to accelerate our disruption of the traditional car-buying experience.

What you’ll be doing

  • Using Your Technical Chops :
  • SQL isn't just a language, it's our daily dialect. It's the tool that empowers us to dive deep and make sense of our data.
  • You’ll be a wizard with business intelligence tools like Tableau or another visualization tool.
  • As a visual storyteller, you'll transform raw, unstructured data into compelling narratives, meticulously choosing the most effective visualizations. Your craftsmanship will turn information into inspiration, distilling data into precise insights that captivate and inspire.
  • Your curiosity won't just drive you, it'll define you. Your technical ability and statistical knowledge won't allow you to be content with just scratching the surface; you'll dig deeper to find the truth in the data, the story behind the numbers.

  • You initiate and drive analyses that lead to operational improvement and process optimization across reconditioning, fulfillment and inventory quality.

  • You will work with others to understand business processes and deliver data so that non-technical resources can understand and respond as needed.
  • You'll efficiently break down complex problems using logical reasoning.

What you should have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering,  Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems Business Administration, Economics, Math, Supply Chain, or similar field from an accredited undergraduate institution required.
  • 1-3+ years of experience in data, reporting, or analytics.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in SQL.
  • Knowledge of visualization software, such as Tableau.
  • Curiosity to continue learning new analytical methods and tools (Snowflake experience is a major plus!)
  • The ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, data science, and business teams and communicate across them in a clear and concise manner understood by all.
