Maintenance Supervisor (Night Shift)

Our client, a global manufacturing company here in the Grand Rapids area, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead and optimize the installation, maintenance, and repair operations within their facility. This role is pivotal in managing a skilled team tasked with ensuring the smooth operation and integrity of plant equipment and systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily activities, conducting regular site inspections, and implementing maintenance strategies that enhance operational efficiency and safety.

Night shift hours :

3 days off in a row every other week!

Straight Time Overtime over 44 hours / week!

Rotating 2-2-3 schedule. (2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, etc.)

12 hour days. 6p-6a

Responsibilities :

• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and necessary maintenance, ensuring operational standards and safety.
• Oversee the maintenance department across various disciplines, including machine repair, electrical systems, and HVAC.
• Develop and implement weekly maintenance schedules based on forecasted workloads, utilizing the maintenance workorder system.
• Prioritize maintenance tasks to optimize shift productivity and resource allocation.
• Hire, manage, and train maintenance personnel, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate daily cleaning and maintenance efforts to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
• Ensure all repairs are completed within established timelines and quality standards.
• Manage inventory of equipment and spare parts, ensuring proper storage and availability.
• Adhere to and enforce strict compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
• Track and evaluate all maintenance and repair activities to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Lead safety inspections and support sanitation procedures to maintain compliance with safety standards.
• Coach and develop team members, enhancing technical skills and professional growth.
