Software Engineer – Data Analysis & Root Cause Support

Location : Huntsville, AL (Onsite Only)

Clearance Required : Active Secret (U.S. Citizenship Required)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer to support a major missile defense initiative. The selected candidate will contribute as an individual contributor on a systems performance and analysis team. This role focuses on developing data analysis products and conducting root cause investigations in support of complex systems integration and validation activities.

The engineer will join a diverse and fast-paced work environment, engaging with team members across disciplines and experience levels.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)

5+ years of relevant engineering experience

Demonstrated proficiency in Python

Experience performing root cause analysis of software / system-level issues

Experience with Bitbucket or equivalent version control systems

Active DoD Secret clearance (Final adjudication required)

Desired Skills

Experience with object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, C++)

Familiarity with requirements decomposition and test planning

Understanding of test objectives in missile defense systems

Strong technical communication and documentation skills

Ability to synthesize complex concepts and present to diverse audiences

Willingness to assume technical leadership responsibilities when needed

Comfortable working independently and within collaborative teams

Willingness to travel up to 25% for integration or coordination efforts
