Job Description
Full-time Clinical Imaging Specialist at West Hospital. Hours are W, TH, F 6a-630p.
Delivers clinical and operational expertise by providing excellent education and training support within a specific modality. Facilitates evidence-based practice and supports advanced imaging initiatives across the system, with the expectation of assisting with building new services and the associated training at other facilities. Serves as a subject matter expert and technical liaison to advanced imaging technologists with the goal of strengthening technical capabilities of the team while driving opportunities for outlying facilities to maximize performance and improve quality. Partners with specialty physicians, radiologists, and imaging directors to develop opportunities and strategies to expand service lines. Actively works as an imaging technologist and regularly performs imaging exams. Coordinates training, monitoring and reporting on training outcomes. Must have a deep understanding of complex specialty exams specific to the modality. Demonstrates ability to effectively train others to perform complex exams and modifies training methods to best meet the needs of the site. Provides CE or training opportunities for technologists in specialized imaging protocols, case studies, or safety practices on an annual basis. May be the MRSO. Obtains education in sub-specialty and specialty certification when available.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification.
- Requires active license through American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT), the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), as required per specific modality. Must hold an advance imaging credential for the specified modality.
- May be required to be registered as ARDMA cardiac sonographer with specialty certification in Pediatric Echocardiography, Adult Echocardiography, or Fetal Echocardiography
- May require MRSO certification.
- Requires license from Indiana State Department of Health, as required per specific modality.
- Requires knowledge of advanced exams, as required per specific modality.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in modality with demonstrated ability to perform complex specialty exams at the highest level of quality.
- May require MRSO certification.
