Job Description
The AS400 RPGLE Developer will design, develop, and maintain applications on the IBM iSeries (AS400) platform using RPGLE, CL and related technologies. This position will analyze business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and write code to build and enhance applications. The role also involves testing, debugging, and optimizing code, as well as collaborating with other team members and acting as a backup to other similar positions.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain applications for PowerSTEPP : Develop and maintain RPGLE programs, CL, and related components.Analyze business requirements, understand and translate business needs into technical solutions.Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Optimize existing code for performance.Thoroughly test and debug applications to ensure they meet requirements and are free of errors.Troubleshoot, address and resolve issues with existing systems and applications.Maintain the ability to restore files and secure AS400 backups.Communicate architecture and / or software development methodologies to developers and stakeholders.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience4 years’ experience in a RPGLE, CL, or related AS400 technologies roleKnowledge of relational databasesExperience with SQL, RPGLE, and / or CLAbility to work under pressure to meet deadlines with minimal supervisionProficiency with computer software including MS Word and MS ExcelDemonstrate strong organizational and time management skillsAbility to work independently and as a member of a teamPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Master's Degree in Information Technology or Medical InformaticsKnowledge of PowerSTEPP softwareBasic knowledge of medical terminology
