About the Department
The Aviation Department is housed at the Aviation Technology Center of Excellence located just west of Tucson International Airport. The #1 goal of Aviation faculty and staff is to provide world-class service and training to our diverse student body. We currently offer training for aspiring technicians in the areas of Airframe and Powerplant, Avionics, Structural Repair, and Nondestructive Testing; and have plans to expand program offerings in the areas of Unmanned Aircraft Systems, and Professional Pilot Training.
About the Position
The position is available beginning spring 2025 as a twelve-month contract. Faculty teach and work a set schedule over a twelve-month academic year, July – June, that could include day, evening, and weekend duties. Aviation Faculty teach a variety of courses in aviation maintenance technology. The selected candidate must be an effective communicator and must be able to demonstrate the techniques required in the performance of a wide range of maintenance, inspection, and overhaul procedures on various types of aircraft and aircraft systems.
