Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Proficiently use Revit or CAD for working in 3D models.
• Prepare HVAC one-line diagrams and review HVAC calculations for loads.
• Possess thorough knowledge of mechanical and energy codes.
• Edit specifications to meet project requirements.
• Develop equipment room sizes during schematic design and design development phases.
• Select and schedule equipment, meeting with vendors to determine specification requirements.
• Coordinate with other disciplines including MEPFP, architecture, and structure.
• Respond to RFIs, review submittals accurately, and solve installation problems.
• Apply risk management procedures to minimize exposure to problems.
• Understand and manage MEP / FP work planning to align with available work hours.
• Develop and deliver appropriate documentation and manage project milestones.
• Direct and mentor designer-level staff, performing at a responsible charge level.
• Conduct QA / QC reviews of calculations and provide guidance.
• Develop and monitor work plans in conjunction with other project managers.
• Write studies and reports for systems, and sequences of operations for various systems.
• Select and analyze advanced equipment, understanding energy concepts thoroughly.
• Use energy software applications fluently and develop life cycle cost analysis for projects.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $100000.00 / yr.
