Summary
This internship focuses on working with the Salesforce software platform to set up all CP details and train the team on its use. Responsibilities include collecting, standardizing, and storing product specifications, packaging files, POS materials, and photo banks for all items. You will also learn certification details for all products, pallet quantities by item and cold storage facility, and assist with vendor mapping across categories, items, accruals, and promotions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist category managers with developing and implementing strategic sourcing and procurement processes.
- Achieve optimal service cost while ensuring high-quality standards and meeting delivery targets.
- Collaborate with category managers to develop price forecasts for key market drivers.
- Ensure product availability and performance.
- Process all distribution and external customer orders.
- Coordinate with cold storage facilities to release inbound orders.
- Manage and track all overseas containers using the inbound logistics worksheet.
- Handle banking and wire details for all purchases.
- Work with the FDA on product holds to keep processes moving efficiently.
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable on customer reconciliation.
- Maintain an updated weekly freight log for all outbound orders, tracking costs against accruals.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of key material market suppliers and cost structures.
- Assist category managers in negotiating with vendors for procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
- Help identify and develop new supply sources where vendors are inadequate.
- Support category managers in managing vendor contracts, including financial terms, renewal dates, and other key contractual details.
- Prepare reports detailing the status of open purchases.
- Communicate daily market conditions, incoming products, current inventory, and potential or current outages.
- Schedule and coordinate product pick-ups.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Coordinate activities across all managed categories.
