Attorney - Estate Planning and Trust Administration (no litigation)

If you have a provable track record of success, keep reading. I own a small busy Probate and Estate Planning law firm in Granite Bay. I need someone to replace me in sales and client review meetings. You are the perfect candidate if you are an Attorney who also has a background in sales and can talk to people like a human, not an attorney.

The position will entail both legal drafting and explaining estate plans, as well as assisting trustees with trust administration, as well as sales responsibilities meeting with new clients.

This position is only for an attorney who is willing to learn to sell legal services and provide phenomenal customer service. I will provide training in what you need to know to best help our clients, and for the right person this will be a highly rewarding position personally, professionally, and financially.

The clients need a smart, creative, empathetic, and compassionate person who can convey the value of our services and enhance the client’s experience. You will work closely with other members of the team to develop and maintain relationships with clients and referral sources. You will help us realize our vision of helping more people!

My firm helps families protect their assets, reduce family drama, and eliminate government intrusion. I offer a high-level of customer service, and we charge for that. We do everything possible to make sure every client has a good experience and gets value from our service.

This position responsibilities include :

• Conduct initial client consultations to vet clients for culture fit and make sure their need is within our scope of sell legal services;
• Design the estate plan with the client, using their goals but our strategy, to accomplish the goals;
• Draft, present, execute, and implement the estate plan;
• Follow up with potential new clients who have not yet retained us;
• Track time
• Document everything in our CRM.

Our ideal candidate will :

• Be a licensed California attorney;
• Understand how to build a relationship with people;
• Have the ability to interact with different types of personalities;
• Show empathy to potential clients and put them at ease during a difficult time;
• Know how to close a sale by helping clients understand the urgency and promoting value;
• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both over the phone and in writing;
• Think on their feet and not be discouraged when things don’t go as planned;
• Be willing and able to quickly learn about new topics (like estate planning, probate, and the income tax system);
• Follow instructions and understand the importance of policies and procedures
• Help find new and better ways to serve clients and suggest more efficient processes.

I like scrappers. I like grit. Real life experience and a few “battle scars” providing empathy and understanding are assets. Experience overcoming a major obstacle in life and making an important change in your life so you know at your core that others can do it too, is a plus.

The initial consultation is not about legal advice, fixing, or problem solving. It’s about understanding the clients and helping them see their goals are possible and helping them realize the benefits of achieving those goals. Prior sales and customer service experience is very helpful. You need to speak like a commoner, not a lawyer. No Latin terms allowed.

I hit the reset button on my firm Q2 of 2025. I got rid of low profit services, and I am in the process of adding more valuable and more profitable services. I want you to join me in the ride. You will have opportunities to share in other services not directly related to legal services. We are implementing more ways to provide more value to the client and make more money. My current team is small. But we have plans to grow. I have done it before, and I am in the process of rebuilding better, stronger, faster. My staff like it here. We protect each other. We help each other. We all have the common goal of making clients' lives better.

The position is in person in the Granite Bay office. You will have the option of working 4-10's or 5-8's. But this is a VERY full-time position. You will likely put in 50+ hours per week. Not 100, but easily 50.
