Key Responsibilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Qualifications
A graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the American Medical Association or a similar authority, or you must be eligible for licensure in South Carolina, or you may be a senior student graduating in the next three months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
You must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or be eligible for such licensure. BLS certification is required. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Those hired prior to June 2016 may hold the Certified Respiratory Therapist designation. Individuals hired from June 2016 onwards must complete the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam and the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation. Failure to pass the Clinical Simulation Exam will lead to termination from Prisma Health.
NRP and PALS certifications are necessary before working independently in the NICU and PICU at our Children's Hospital.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, along with strong communication, computer, and organizational skills.
