About The Position

Experience :

Minimum of 2 years of acute inpatient experience required.

Previous charge experience preferred.

License :

Current RN licensure required.

Certifications :

BLS - AHA and NIHSS required.

CPI, CBHS, and MAB preferred.

Must-Have :

Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.

Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1 : 12.

Floating may be required.

Candidates must commit to working every other weekend or two per month.

Description :

This position requires a Registered Nurse specialized in Behavioral Health.

The nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients experiencing mood disorders and thought disorders.

Candidates should possess skills in medication administration, crisis intervention, and behavior management techniques.

Experience with antianxiety, antidepressants, and antipsychotics is essential.

Candidates should be familiar with seclusion protocols and managing self-injurious behavior.

Experience with child / adolescent patients and geriatric patients is beneficial.

Successful candidates will demonstrate proficiency in interpretation and communication of lab values.

Strong de-escalation techniques are necessary.

Travelers requesting time off during any holiday or holiday week will not be accommodated.

Participants must adhere to health and safety protocols as outlined in the job requirements.

The position may involve working with restraints as needed.

Collaboration with interdisciplinary support services will be expected.

The nurse will engage in psychoeducation and provide support for substance use and chemical dependency disorders.

Knowledge of various mental health diagnoses, including bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, is required.

The ability to work effectively in a locked unit setting is essential.

Effective oral and written communication skills are mandatory.
