Marketing & Communications Specialist I

Job Description

Holdings is searching for an event specialist contractor to assist our Marketing and Communications Department’s Brand and Events Team. The position will report into the Manager of Brand and Events.

This person should have strong communication skills, both written and oral, as well as strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multiple members associated with the events.

Typical events planned by the team are exhibits at tradeshows (such as SEMICON) and external technical and business conferences, internal conferences, award ceremonies and dinners, senior management meetings, and employee meetings.

As multiple events are being planned concurrently, the event specialist should be able to multitask and prioritize across multiple events to meet deadlines and event milestones.

Responsibilities

Plan and organize internal and external events assigned, both locally and around the This includes :

o Creating, implementing and controlling event budgets.

o Establishing relationships with vendors and suppliers for events. Typical examples would be caterers, venue owners, as well as industry organizations ( hotels, restaurants, industry sponsorships).

o Establishing detailed timelines and deadlines for items such as : contracts, payments, marketing material preparation, catering arrangements, procurement of needed supplies, and other event specific needs.

o Executing the plan and providing event data and reports as required.

Effective communication with all parties including, clients, vendors, team members, manager, etc. on details and progress of events.

Ensure customer (event owner / sponsor) satisfaction by offering needed service and assistance to event participants.

Maintain an inventory and directory of marketing giveaways and supplies for the department.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Project Management, or other related fields preferred.

• years of experience in marketing coordination, event planning, or a similar role.

Proven experience in conference and event marketing.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong collaboration and relationship building skills.

Ability to multi-task is critical to success

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and marketing software / tools.

Familiarity with or other program management tools.

Experience with budget management and vendor negotiations with some financial acumen.

Occasionally lift and / or move up to pounds.

Some domestic (US) travel required (-%).
