Summary
Performance Seats is a global leader in performance and comfort automotive seating. The Industrial Sewer is responsible for sewing fabric, leather, and foam materials to produce high-quality seat covers and fulfill service orders, ensuring alignment with detailed specifications and quality standards. This role supports the sewing and embroidery workflow, performs equipment maintenance, and contributes to continuous improvement and safety initiatives across the production area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- To sew fabric, leather and foam necessary to complete seat and service orders.
- Assist with the flow of material through embroidery and sewing operations.
- Sew material to fill service department orders.
- Sew individual pieces together to create seat cover set or service order as specified on traveler.
- Perform maintenance tasks required to maintain sewing machines.
- Inspect for compliance to quality, craftsmanship and sewing standards.
- Provide suggestions to improve sewing operation and flow of orders through the area / plant.
- Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain workspace and equipment.
- Perform proper preventive maintenance as required on any equipment being used.
- Follow all safety guidelines and uses required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support the quality system and identify nonconformities and follow nonconforming procedures including alerting supervisor of nonconformance.
- Implement process improvements.
- Adhere to all Health, Safety and Environmental standards and procedures. Participate in investigations and 8D process as needed.
- Report occupational injuries, illnesses and accidents.
- Report hazardous, unsafe and unhealthy working conditions.
- Understand, support, and contribute to Performance Seats Total Quality Management, Quality (ISO / TS 16949), and Environmental Management (ISO14000) Systems by following approved policies and procedures.

Education and / or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a cut and sew environment – preferably industrial sewing.Knowledge of materials, patterns, and sewing.Time Management Skills
Availability to work overtime including occasional weekends, public holidays, and evenings.Communication Skills
Good communication and organizational skills.Able to follow directions, be extremely detail-oriented and work as a team.Computer Skills
Basic knowledge of technology.Physical Demands
