Essential Functions

  • Provides feedback and recommendations for improvement to the Field Training program, organizational structure, and curriculum.
  • Effectively implements and oversees training program and works with Field Trainers to analyze job tasks and current field performance to evaluate training needs and program content.
  • Supervises, directs, and instructs trainees during classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job training assignments.
  • Ensures all trainees are sufficiently trained to perform their assigned duties by reviewing and evaluating work of field trainers and employees.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and Company work rules and procedures. Understands and complies with labor contracts and works to resolve initial grievances. Initiate appropriate disciplinary action as required.
  • Ensures that work is performed in accordance with appropriate Company standards and work methods including monitoring for a high quality of workmanship. Provides employee feedback and seeks to enhance performance and safety.
  • Coordinates with the Training Coordinator and Planning and Scheduling Supervisor to plan, organize, schedule, and manage field workload.
  • Provides updates and ensures new procedures and revisions are incorporated into training and materials.
  • Assumes on-call supervisor assignments as required.

Technical Knowledge / Skill / Education / Licenses / Certifications :

  • Must possess Operator Qualifications related to job for both Meter Services and Maintenance / Construction.
  • Requires knowledge of the gas distribution system and design, production plant operation, metering regulations and gas-fired equipment.
  • Requires knowledge of construction, operating and maintenance principles and practices, procedures, safety standards and business processes.
  • Requires project and schedule management skills.
  • Working knowledge of the labor contracts.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience
  • Five to eight years of experience in Gas Distribution and / or Field Service design and / or installation.
  • Must have technical discipline with supervisory experience.
  • Natural Gas Operator Qualifications.
  • Valid driver’s license required. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain CDL preferred.

    • Working Conditions :

  • Must be available to travel between MA and CT.
  • Work is conducted in the classroom and outside in varied conditions and terrain, including adverse weather conditions.
  • Drives to various field training sites to supervise work, and review or discuss current job requirements.
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.

    • Mental Aspects :

  • Work includes analyzing, planning, organizing, evaluating, and documenting. This role works in an environment that often requires the performance of multiple simultaneous activities. Work also requires the management of interpersonal interactions between various personalities in a class and field setting. This role requires willingness to teach and provide instruction to students.

    119,340.00-$132,600.00
