Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose of Position :
Under the direction of executive or senior leadership, with moderate latitude for initiative and exercise of judgment, is responsible for providing executive support by performing a broad variety of confidential projects and assignments. Ensures efficient and effective operation of the administrative area and acts in compliance with applicable New York City Health + Hospitals policies and procedures.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Executive Secretary is an integral part of the External Affairs team, providing essential support to senior leadership, including the Director of Community Affairs, Public Affairs Officer, and Director of Volunteer Services. This role involves overseeing and providing support for confidential projects and assignments, managing administrative functions, coordinating special projects, and enhancing operational efficiency while supporting the hospital's outreach, communication strategies, and brand image. The manager must ensure efficient and effective operations of the Department of External Affairs in compliance with applicable New York City Health + Hospitals' policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in Secretarial Science, Office Administration or Technology, Business Administration or related areas of study and two (2) years of executive administrative assistant experience, or 2. High School Diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and three (3) years of experience, as described in "1" above. 3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience. However, all candidates must have a minimum of a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent. A Bachelor's degree may be considered equivalent to four (4) years of relevant professional experience as described in "1" above.
