Position Overview
XSITE LLC is seeking a IT Networking Systems Specialist to provide subject matter expertise to a key government client in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will bring technical depth in networking technologies, especially Software Defined Networking, and possess the professionalism to engage with high-level stakeholders across the defense ecosystem. This role will directly support efforts to modernize and optimize wide area networks in tactically constrained environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the design, development, and implementation of modern WAN architectures in tactical environments.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of network roadmaps to align with emerging mission needs and technology trends.
- Apply knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN), overlay networks, and tactical afloat WANs to assess feasibility and performance tradeoffs.
- Interface with stakeholders including Program Office personnel, Senior Executives, and Flag Officers to deliver recommendations and status updates.
- Work onsite with client teams, ensuring clear communication and responsive support for evolving requirements.
- Evaluate commercial and military satellite transport link integration within WAN designs.
- Navigate disconnected, intermittent, and limited bandwidth (DDIL) environments and advise on best practices for reliable network performance.
Required Qualifications
Active TS / SCI Clearance (No exceptions).Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, Mathematics).5-10 years experienceHands-on experience with :Software Defined Networking (SDN) technologies.
WAN and overlay architectures in tactical or afloat military environments.Network management tools and techniques.Familiarity with DDIL constraints and tactical WAN best practices.Strong analytical skills with the ability to independently troubleshoot complex network issues.High level of adaptability and self-motivation in dynamic mission contexts.Professionalism in interactions with government and military leadership.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information across stakeholder levels.Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of DoD, DoN, ASN, OPNAV, NAVWAR, PEO C4I, and Program Office structures.Experience supporting R&D, S&T efforts, and system transitions into Programs of Record (PoRs).Systems engineering experience within Department of Defense acquisition programs.Systems engineering experience within Department of Defense acquisition programs.Why Join XSITE?
