Packaging Engineer I

Purpose and Scope / General Summary : We are looking for a Packaging Engineer I to join our Pilgrims / Prepared Foods R&D team here in Greeley CO! This person will work with the R&D team to deliver and maintain the current packaging portfolio. You will have a variety of assignments within quality optimization sustainability and innovation across different substrates and platforms to develop your technical capabilities across the business.

Responsibilities :

• Manage and fulfill packaging workflow requests and inquiries within SAP (IPS) and other related systems.
• Create and manage packaging specifications and BOM reviews.
• Plan and execute production line trials and qualification tests at plants for packaging components making observations documenting procedures and results and drawing conclusions.
• Develop packaging for consumer and commercial applications compatibility and performance testing for primary secondary and tertiary packaging.
• Provide onsite monitoring and technical assistance to operations when testing / manufacturing new products.
• Lead commercialization of packaging changes and implementation of new items and processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
