Duties and Responsibilities

The Social Worker assumes the role in the delivery of psychological, financial, religious, and physical needs of the resident, family members and significant others. Assures that the resident’s needs are met in accordance with the mission statement, philosophy, policy and procedures of the facility. Promotes a team concept with other departments and disciplines through demonstrating good interpersonal skills.

The nursing home social worker must have skills in communication, assessment and social work methods and techniques

Work effectively with a variety of disciplines in an individual and team setting

Possess a working understanding of social systems along with the ability to implement pertinent state and federal regulations

Licensed Required

Skills and Qualifications

LSW, LCSW or LICSW license required

Completed internship or fieldwork requirements
